The 76 Drum Motor is a new type of drive device with the motor and reducer placed together inside the drum body. It is mainly used in fixed and mobile belt conveyors as a replacement for the traditional motor, with the reducer outside the drive drum as a separate drive.
There are many types of reducers produced at home and abroad, but there are only three types that can be used in mass production on drum motors.
Fixed shaft gear driven drum motors
The most common type of reducer used on drum motors at home and abroad is the fixed shaft gear drive, and over 95% of the gear drive is a fixed shaft involute cylindrical gear drive. This type of transmission is simple, reliable, easy to manufacture, easy to install and maintain, and has the advantages of high efficiency and low noise. Two-stage reduction is commonly used, with a few three-stage reductions.
Planetary Gear Drive Drum Motor
This type of transmission has the advantages of small size, light weight, large load capacity and smooth operation compared to fixed shaft gear transmission.
Cycloid Drive Drum Motors
This structure can be described as “Chinese” and is rarely used in other countries except Japan, where it is possible to achieve very small linear speeds and high power with a cycloid motorized pulley.
